Injury Rehab

Injury Rehab

Whether it’s a sporting injury, work related, or an injury you’ve picked up elsewhere, our accredited exercise physiology services will guide you through rehabilitation.

ACL Rehab Program

We are able to offer individualised programs devised specifically to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of ACL injuries.

Better Pain Management

Injury pain can be a significant barrier to achieving fitness goals, so we design rehabilitation programs specifically designed to manage associated pain.

Prevent Further Injury

Through maintaining a degree of fitness via a personalised injury rehabilitation program, athletes reduce the risk of the same (or new) injuries reoccurring.

Get Back To Your Best

Our injury rehabilitation programs are designed with one goal in mind — to get you back to peak fitness and performing at your best.

Specialised Equipment

We use the NormaTec compression therapy recovery system as part of our injury rehab programs, including for ACL injury rehabilitation.

Miroslav (Miki) Trbovic

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Trap Bar Deadlift

  • Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology

Having worked at various private gyms and sporting organisations early in his career, including Norwood FC of the SANFL, Miki knew athletes and coaches across Adelaide deserved better. Too long had optimal rehabilitation and S&C services only been accessible to athletes at the top level.

Miki started AAC in 2017 with the vision of creating an environment for athletes to the get the most out of their performance. What began as a small handful of aspiring athletes and coaches has turned into a not so little AAC community with athletes competing locally, nationally and across the globe. This is only just the beginning!

A love of sport and training has fuelled Jazz’s pursuit of a career in strength & conditioning and coaching. Jazz has a passion for working with kids and young athletes. He believes athletic development should begin as early as possible to develop movement patterns, coordination and strength, which is the foundation for athletic performance.

  • Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science

Reece has a lifelong passion for martial arts and human performance. He has a history in combat sports and has a profound understanding on the effects of injuries for both physical and psychological wellbeing. As such, he has dedicated his time in learning how to help people come back from injuries and become even better versions of themselves.

Reece has helped multiple fighters prepare for upcoming events in MMA, boxing and kickboxing giving special considerations to fight camp preparation and maximising the athlete's performance. He has also overseen a number of athletes return to sport from severe injuries such as ACL reconstructions, shoulder reconstructions and stress fractures.

What sort of sports injuries do you treat?

The AAC team of exercise physiologists, trainers and coaches have extensive experience of working with athletes in almost every category of sport — which also means we are able to help provide rehab services for just about any sort of sporting injury.

What are the benefits of working with an exercise physiologist?

Our team of exercise scientists/physiologists are tertiary trained specialists who are highly skilled in accelerating recovery and helping athletes to come back from injury. They not only devise personalised, individual programs but also have the expertise to analyse an athlete’s techniques to see how this may have contributed to the injury.

How is injury rehab different to physiotherapy?

Sports injury rehabilitation programs are designed to guide athletes through the rehab process as well as prevent an athlete from losing all of their conditioning, speed and strength during the recovery process. This means they get back to peak performance quicker, as well as reducing the risk of further injury.

How will I know when I’m ready to resume playing sport?

Our coaches utilise a range of key physiological and biomechanical performance indicators to ensure that you are fit and strong enough to return to playing and competing. We also work with you to develop the confidence in your body that is essential when returning from injury.

What are the benefits of compression therapy?

NormaTec compression therapy can be used to mitigate the fatigue and soreness associated with sports injury rehabilitation. It reduces inflammation and swelling, and helps to increase flexibility and restore a full range of movements.

Do you only treat sports injuries?

Although we are a high performance centre catering to the needs of elite and semi-pro athletes and sporting teams at the highest levels, we are always happy to work with anyone who has suffered an injury and requires rehabilitation to get back to full health and fitness.
